Fumba Town is being developed together with permaculture expert Franko Goehse and his Practical Permaculture Institute of Zanzibar. Permaculture is not only taught here, it is lived.
Grown on site
More than 150 tree and plant species.
On the grounds of the permaculture institute, specially trained local staff grow the trees and plants that are later planted in the districts and parks of Fumba Town.
The residents’ organic waste is also composted here and goes back into the town’s gardens as humus.
